Life is what happens between the posed photographs. These are the moments I capture.

Hello! I’m William and I’m a wedding photojournalist and visual storyteller, based in Fresno, CA. I specialize in telling your story, through pictures, of your incredible wedding day. And I promise not to make you say cheese, to not boss you around or in fact direct you in any way.

The style of wedding photography I enjoy is known as documentary wedding photography, or wedding photojournalism. It’s a cliché, I know, but I am actually passionate about photographing weddings authentically and responsibly.

Before documenting weddings, I have had a successful 25-year career as a professional photojournalist and editor, working for magazines and wire services worldwide along with major newspapers in five states. The last 10 years I served as the Director of Photography for The Fresno Bee. My range of clients have included The Associated Press, Reuters, Time, Newsweek, Money, Forbes, New York Times and other newspapers in the US and abroad.

I have covered major sporting events, tragedies and triumphs. I have covered presidential campaigns in two countries. I’ve handed Jimmy Carter a hammer, asked Hillary Clinton what she keeps in the White House fridge and turned down being bought breakfast by Laura Bush…twice.

I have achieved numerous awards during my career, including being nominated by Gannett Newspapers (USA Today) for a Pulitzer Prize in feature photography.

So unlike some photographers that you may come across who practice photojournalistic-style wedding photography, I have a long history of working in this field.

It’s incredibly important to me that you get the very best memories of your wedding day and I would love to be your wedding photographer and capture them for you pictorially.

Although I am based in Fresno, CA. I take wedding commissions from all across the United States. My approach, and style is totally unobtrusive meaning I will not dictate, prompt or manipulate anything throughout your very special wedding day.
The Wedding photojournalism style is very subjective and there are lots of similar types of wedding photography out there. Every wedding photographer should be different, and stand out from the masses and I hope you will find that with my particular style of photography.

Don’t worry of course if you want a handful of formal portraits, I fully understand the requirement for these and I will undertake any formal shots very quickly to allow you to get on with enjoying yourself!

I also offer you the ability to be as posed or as crazy as you like with our wedding photo booth. The booth, at your reception, is a great way to get all those pictures of family groups at their own pace throughout the evening all while you are enjoying the day.

Are you a HS senior or someone looking for family portraits? If so, I create relaxed portraiture and real moments. In this area my goal, similar to my wedding coverage is not to create an image that is overly posed or that reflects more of a figure in a magazine. My goal is to capture you, at your best, in a way that reflects who you truly are.

In my spare time I also work with non-profits to visually communicate the message of their work across the world. In 2012 I travelled to the Democratic Republic of The Congo for this.
